Introduction

Dogs have been loyal companions to the human race for eons. They share our towns, streets, and homes. In Puerto Rico, they are a prevalent part of families and island landscapes. Sadly, also prevalent are cases of neglect and outright cruelty. Animal rescuers throughout the Puerto Rico battle these challenges on a daily basis. We find that in many cases, neglect arises from a lack of understanding.
