The footage that Michael already had integrated perfectly into ‘For Satos Sake’ Documentary, giving his hobby and library a whole new purpose.
Years later he continued on to film and act as a second unit director of photography, helping Evelyn create more critical stories for ‘For Satos Sake’ Documentary.

Jorge Santiago
Jorge is a senior at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (UPRM) studying Film and Music, his two passions. Since he was a child, he has been interested in filmmaking, but always saw it as a distant dream. This changed when he entered the Film Certificate program at his university and had filmmaker Raisa Bonnet as his mentor. From then on, he began working on productions as a production assistant and camera assistant. As he delved further into this world, his passion for filmmaking was reaffirmed, and the challenge of co-directing and editing his first documentary gave him the opportunity he desired. After the initial screenings of the finished documentary, he saw how film can be used to empower communities and promote necessary discussions and change among the impacted audience. He then started working on Evelyn O. Vaccaro’s For Satos Sake as a cinematographer & editor; which has been a gratifying experience that has backed up this belief of giving a microphone to communities in need of change. He travels monthly from San Juan to Mayagüez and constantly finds abandoned animals by the street who have died because of being impacted by cars. It shouldn’t be this way. Through this documentary he has learned more about the situation by speaking with rescuers, veterinarians, and activists who have given a human voice to the satos’ struggle. It is an honor for him to contribute to this project and hopes that it helps in sparking the awareness and changes needed.
Recipient of an an Honorable Mention Award for his documentary film Todavía Estamos Aquí. at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival 2023, Jorge Santiago is talented UPRM Software Engineering Major, @ UPRM who loves the art of documentary film making. A very proud Puerto Rican, he is very excited about being able to give back to his beloved Puerto Rico by acting as one of the cinematographers on For Satos Sake.
Evelyn having met Jorge at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Festival, she immediately knew she had to invite Jorge to be a part of the production team. Within 2 months of that meeting, she hired Jorge to film and edit 2 segments which will be a very special part of For Satos Sake.
